We we lured into a false sense of security when the bright evenings slowly started to make a return. Suddenly the UK and Ireland was told to brace for the second coming of winter when The Beast from the East and Storm Emma arrived. Everyone is in hibernation mode and only opts to leave the house when it is absolutely necessary, our new year resolutions are long forgotten and the harsh winter weather is nothing short of cruel on our delicate skin. Thankfully I have found four fantastic products that leave my skin not only looking but feeling nourished, refreshed and radiant. If you are in need of a little pick me up until those flowers finally decide to bloom then continue reading below.
Bulldog Sensitive Moisturiser
Following up with your regular skin cleanser and toner (if you are new to my blog I highly recommend the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish) is a man’s best friend: The Bulldog Sensitive Moisturiser. This product is full of antioxidants such as baobab oil and anti-inflammatory such as oat oil, to remove acne causing bacteria from the skin. It has been specially formulated to absorb deeply into the skin so you are not left feeling sticky or looking greasy. I do not like to see a product sitting on top of my skin as all it does it block my pores and cause more breakouts. Something like this which absorbs quickly works deep beneath the skin surface nourishing and restoring so I glow from the inside out.
Again if you are new to my blog you might find this recommendation a little odd – but I want to follow in the footsteps of many before me and show that men too can wear make up to boost their confidence and leave a natural looking complexion. This foundation is lightweight and water based which gives a smooth application and is incredibly easy to blend into the skin. Think of it as an enhancement to your natural beauty – it evens out skin tone, helps to blur problem areas such as large pores and breakouts and thanks to the Ginger extract it helps to tone and hydrate the skin giving you a fresh and even finish. So lightweight you will forget you are wearing it and blends so beautifully no one will notice.
Korres Multivitamin Powder
If you are feeling a little skeptical of the foundation, which is completely understandable, then I highly recommend the matte finish powder. This is much more subtle than the foundation and is also buildable depending on your desired coverage. The powder can really enhance your complexion and put a subtle blur over any existing imperfections. The sponge provided works like an absolute dream and is highly recommended but if you are a first timer or would prefer a more subtle finish then a brush is a great alternative. One of the benefits of powder is it can help soak up excess sebum, or the skins natural oil, that is produced throughout the day plus this is rich in Vitamins E and C to care for your skin at the same time.
Bulldog Original Body Lotion
Last but certainly not least is the Bulldog Body Lotion. Applying moisturiser is seen as a chore to practically everyone worldwide but I have seen the benefits, particularly after seeing the effects of neglecting this crucial step in skin care. This is packed with 8 essential oils, cocoa butter, aloe vera and avocado oil – I do not think I have came across a moisturiser with so many nourishing ingredients on the market for women so this is outstanding. While it may not seem like a priority to moisturise the body since we are wrapped up under so many layers when outdoors these days our skin will thank us – especially in the future. Spend an extra two minutes when you jump out of the shower to apply moisturiser to lock in hydration, give a subtle glow, keep ingrown hairs at bay and prevent razor burns.
If you are new to skin care and want to start taking better care of your appearance then 1. good for you and 2. do not fret – you are in safe hands. I hope this blog post made it a little easier and has pointed you in the right direction. If you do have any questions please do not hesitate to leave a comment and I will get back to you.
