Fenty Beauty by Rihanna launched less than one year ago and had beauty industry big names shook. The Pro Filt’r foundation range is available in 40 shades and bridged a much publicised and heavy scrutinised gap in the market. This summer as part of the Beach Please range Rihanna is back to causing an internet frenzy with the launch of Body Lava, a body luminizer to compliment any skin tone and add to the highlight faze we have been drooling over the last few years. I ordered my Who Needs Clothes shade the day they became available on Harvey Nichols and have been patiently waiting on giving my verdict: is this your summer must have beauty product or is Rihanna desperately trying to recreate a naughties music video?
Body Lava comes in a generous 90ml or 3 Fluid OZ glass bottle with a rose gold cap and pump system. A little product goes a long way – and more on that later – but I can guarantee this bottle will last you all summer long and you will definitely be getting your money worth. This sophisticated and fun bottle will be a great addition to your make up collection and hopefully you have a travel bag large enough for it when you head on your sunshine trip.
Available in two shades Who Needs Clothes and Brown Sugar on the Fenty Beauty website, the latter was nowhere to be seen on the UK Harvey Nichols retailer site at the time of purchase. Does this completely disregard the movement the brand made or is both shades suitable to all skin tones?
The product is a gel-based body luminizer with light-difussing micro pearls to give a high shine finish. With a subtle yet distinctive vanilla scent it adds to the holiday feel with this sun-kissed bronzed goddess must have. Who Needs Clothes is a radiant rose gold shade that captures the essence of silky, dewy and sun-kissed skin like you are fresh off the beach during an exotic get away.
Designed for the body to accentuate the collar bones, arms, legs, chest or anywhere you want to draw attention to and give a summer feel. A fine layer of product can be buffed and blended into the skin using the fingers or Kabuki brush. A little does go a long way and this product blends like a dream – for someone such as myself who adores going over the top I would advise you to build on this product. Too much can cause the luminizer to feel more tacky rather than dewy and is easier transferred to clothes and others.
This is a season must have. May your summer be filled with soaking in the rays on paradise island or attending music festivals or stuck in an office this is going to serve you purpose. Finally a body luminizer that feels elegant and compliments all skin tones is available on the market. The highlighting trend is far from over and Body Lava is another accomplishment and success story in Fenty Beauty. I can not wait to see what Rihanna has in store for us next.
